I stayed home from work sick today, I think it was allergies. I do feel better but there has been something going around, all started by a guy named Silva. That’s who we all blame anyways.

Life is weird…

Have you ever had one of those moments where everything seems perfect?

Last week I had one of those moments. It was late a night and I was driving home with some friends and everything was perfect. I felt very peaceful and happy…really happy. Then we were home and I dropped them off and the perfectness ended.

Have you ever had one of those weeks that left you perplexed, confused, sad, happy, regretful, and relieved all at the same time?

In the past three days I have found out that three people I have cared a lot about (ex’s) in the past two years are wither pregnant, married, or a combination of both. I’m not really sure why I had this weird mix of emotions…it is odd.

Snow....here?

Yep! I got off the train after work today to find the roads and cars covered in about a half inch of snow and ice. It was just plain crazy. It is supposed to happen thru the weekend so I will take and post pictures.

Things....

Things I like:
- Riding the MUNI train to work and not driving in order to save gas money.

Things I don’t like:
- Moving my car from my street where you can’t park on Mondays from 10:00AM – 2:00PM so the street cleaners can come to moving it to the cross street where I thought you couldn’t park on Wednesdays but you actually cant park on Mondays from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and you get a ticket for FOURTY DOLLARS!!! Thanks a ton already most expensive place in the whole effing world to live! Screw you Gavin!

Endings and Beginnings

These last few weeks have been a very emotional time for me. Lot's of changes going on in my life.

On Thursday, Feb 21st my grandmother passed away. It seems like it happened so quickly. She was 77 and lived a pretty good life. I didn't go to the funeral because it really made me emotional and I couldn't keep it together.
I also want to remember the way I remember her as my last memory.

It seems that all of the memories of the people whose funerals I have attended are capped by the funeral taking away something from the person. I don't care for that. I think I have decided that I am anti-funeral. When it is my turn I don't think I want a funeral. I want there to be a party sponsored by me.

On Friday, March 3rd I worked my last day as an Electronic Arts employee.
After a full decade, one third of my life, I have decided it is time to explore some other growth opportunities. EA, as much as I bitched, was a wonderful place to work. There are some amazing people there, especially in the Origin days, and I learned so much, but now I need to learn more and take my career to the next level.

I am sad about leaving the Ultima Online team. I have so much invested there (even the logo tattooed on my arm) and care about the community kids so much, but they are in good hands. It was touching to see the goodbye responses posted on Stratics as I left (you
can read it here if you choose); it's an odd feeling to know that you have effected so many peoples lives.

It was a little hard to walk away....

On Monday, March 6th I start my new job at Perpetual Entertainment. I am extremely excited to work with this company and on the projects they are developing. I will head up the Community and Customer Interaction department there. They are a small studio with a focus on MMOG development.
Currently in production are Gods and Heroes and StarTrek Online.

It is definitely going to be a challenging role but I am ready and so stoked. Wish me luck!

So yeah, life is full of changes. I used to fear change but now I embrace it, for you never know what is around the next turn but you can see down a straight road.
