Haight Street and the Aquarium

This weekend I went to Haight street to meet up with Mike G at Molotov's for some adult beverages. I called up some ghosts from the past to come kick it with us, Maya and Sada came out as well as Alex (a little awkward). Libations were consumed and laughs were had. From there we headed down to Club Deluxe for more libations. More good times. Then it got really awkward with Alex. Lame. We had pizza after that.

Then on Sunday I went to the Aquarium of the Bay on Pier 39. I enjoy that place.

These first pictures are from Laguna and then the Denver airport.

Bud Light Presents Real Men of Genius.
Real Men of Genuis

Today we salute you Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy.

Mr. Way Too Proud of Texas Guy!

Men from lesser states might know their state's capital, but you? You know you're state's bird, tree and even reptile.

Love that horny toad.

You display your pride with your Lone Star tattoo, "Native Texan" bumper sticker, and contempt for any state that doesn't start with "Tex" and end with "as."

That spells Texas.

Sure, there are 49 other states in the Union, but they are smaller, wussier, and the people talk funny.

Yankee wussies.

So crack open a nice cold Bud Light, oh lover of the Lone Star state. Because all that flag waving must have made you thirsty.

Home sweet home...

This past weekend (September 6 – 11th) for the Austin Game Developers Conference and really, just to go home. I have been super home sick as of late and this trip is just what I needed.

The conference was good, I made a lot of new contacts and was able to introduce a few people to our company and I also took part in several interviews for online gaming press sites. After the conference each evening I hung out with Ben Drinkin’ and Larry to Lose. Good good times were had. Many adult beverages were consumed, many beautiful women were ogled and many laughs were laughed.

Friday night was the LJ All Stars reunion. Nelson and Alex from Superfirst\Shaft fame were there and a lot of friends showed up. If felt like a reunion of sorts. More good times. Cruiserweight also played and that was a lot of fun. Then we hit the sidebar for more libations and a lot of cleavage showing. Afterwards we were hanging outside and Kathy says to three OSU fans “OSU sucks my asshole!” They informed her she was the meanest person in Austin. More good times.

Saturday I hung out with Artie, Vaden, Bdog and their families. Then in the evening UT played OSU and got stomped. That sucked. It would have been nice to be home for a big win like that. But Born To Lose played afterwards and it was hella fun! More and more old friends came out (including Kayla and Rockabilly Matt the coolest cat) and more awesome times were had. There was a bit of drama…I really wish we would all get out of Jr High…perhaps one day.

Sunday I woke up early and made the all Farm Road trek to Onalaska Texas on lake Livingston to surprise my folks. The3y just bought a home up there two blocks off the lake to retire to and it was so good to see them. It has been almost two years. I miss them. My brother and nephew and family were going to try and make it but couldn’t due to prior arrangements and time and all that. I’ve only seen my nephew twice and he is almost three. Sometimes I feel like a terrible family member. That is another reason I would like to move back to Austin.

Soon, soon I will be back in the Lone Star State! Here are all the pics from the trip, beginning with some pics from the Zoo here in SF and a memorial from a wife to a husband who drowned across the street in the ocean. It was really touching and very sad. I cried like a little bitch at the sight of it. I hate being a wuss. Oh well.

I left Onalaska at 9AM and came across a tribute to 9/11 via motorcycle parade close to Bryan. I left Austin at 4PM and arrived at my house at 2:15AM. Many delays and lots of time in Denver = a tired Binky. Not good times.

I miss you Austin people so very much!

It's been a while - Pics from the bday and the office

It's been a while since I updated. I’ve been busy at work and I have rediscovered how much fun gaming can be. Here are pics from the office bathroom, elevator, subway ride home, birthday in the park (it was really cold and the water balloon fight didn’t help), birthday bowling (Rive pissed me off so bad by going against my wished and told this amazingly hot girl that I was infatuated with her and she came and gave me a pity kiss on the forehead, thus the beginning of the end of our friendship), the windmill in the Golden Gate park, a wedding rehearsal at said windmill, and the awesome flying skull that Kate gave me.

So yeah, Riva and Alex and I aren’t really friends anymore. I don’t have time for people who never call or return calls. I can't be making all the effort. It saddens really. It was a fun winter.

On that note, I’ve really been homesick lately. I am ready to go back to Texas to be close to my real friends and family, back where people aren’t so fake and flakey.
