The Further adventures of Captain Cornelius - Sonoma

This Saturday (November 17) was my friend Beth's birthday. To celebrate we ventured up to the Wine Country and partook in free adult beverages while Captain Cornelius explored the uncharted hills and valleys of Sonoma.

We first stopped at the Pedroncelli Winery. This place was great! The wine was delicious and Jon, our guide through the journey of flavors was really cool. By far the nicest and most welcoming of all the places we visited.

From there we went to Frick Winery. This place was the coolest traditional vinyard setting I thought. The falling water tower was awesome. The guy here loosened up after a bit, but was still pretty crotchety. The Wine here was pretty good too.

By this time we were starved so we hit up the Dry Creek General Store. It was cool and overpriced as you would expect. the sandwiches were made to order and delicious! The ordering and paying process was not interesting and very inefficient and they are cash only..WTF?! Join the 21st century people! Also, the bartender was gorgeous!

This is where we met up with McShane and Meg, they were super late. Oh McSane and Meg...

From here we headed up to Bella Winery and Caves. The place was really cool in that it was a cave dug into a hill. This was the only place that charged a tasting fee ($5) which I thought was pretty tacky and cheesy. Also, their wine was pretty crappy I thought. Way dry and gave me serious cotton mouth. The people were also not very friendly I thought. The place was cool though.

By this time it was close to 5:00 and we wanted to hit one more so we rushed around and found one that was open 'til 5 so we rushed in. The lady there was quick to quip that they were by appointment only (even thought there were dozens of signs advertising the tasting rooms and open 'til 5ness). I didn't like her attitude so I went outside and took pictures of the Captain. This resulted in the best photo of the day (IMHO). This is also where we met up with J-scram.

After the wineries we made a quick trip over to Bear Republic Brewing company for some grub and beers. I had Root Beer and Cream Soda. Good stuff.

After that we headed back to the city and went to Teppi and Laurens for birthday cake and cupcakes action.

It was a successful day for sure, and the Captain did some fantastically awesome exploration.

PeeWee, Punk Rock, and P.B.R.

This past Wednesday (November 14th) was my awesome friend Lisa's (PeeWee - also from AMP, LFR, and H&H) birthday! To honor her on this glorious day I headed out to the lovely city where the Sims was born, Walnut Creek California. We went to this bar\club called Spoontonic Lounge for Punk Rock Night where Brett from AMP\Loud Fast Rules\and Hails and Horns and Mohawk Tony spin amazing punk records all night long.

It was a whole lotta fun and just a damn good time. I wish I'd been going every Wednesday night instead of being lame...suck.

Also, I met my East Bay doppelgangers! Good thing they were awesome!

So Happy Birthday PeeWee, I'm gonna miss you when I move back to Texas.

Enjoy the photos at your leisure.

Separated at birth?

Return of the Captain!

Its been a while since I updated this little ol' site, and man is this a good update. Why? Captain Cornelius, thats why!

The Cap'n went exploring the Muir Woods this weekend with my friend Ashley and myself. It was a good time. The lighting was odd so that is why there are many of the same photos with and without flash. I will be making a Cap'n section soon and clean all this up plus add the hundreds of other pics I have of him.

In addition to the trip to the Muir Woods with the Captain, there was good times at The Phoenix where we played a lively game of fingers.

From there we went to a partake the the vocal stylings of karaoke at some place on Mission...It was a damn good time.

Also in this mix of pictures are a set from the beach and the Golden Gate bridge as well as pictures of the true San Francisco, the bums. This one is named "Dirty Hands McGee", well, that's what I have named him. He passes out where he wants.

We will start with the pics of the exploration of the Muir Woods by Me, Ashley, and Captain Cornelius!

This was the trip home from the Muir Woods. Good pics of the bridge.

This was at the Phoenix. Again, good times were had by all.

Ha...rhea...

Every year in San Francisco they have the Love Fest and part of that is the Love Parade. The parade is a bunch of scantly clad (or plain naked) people riding on floats blasting techno, house, and jungle music. It is really a really awesome event, all in the name of love and peas. Oh yeah, I had to work that Sunday or I would have had more pictures....weak.

Some random pics of the beach and Golden Gate Bridge. And Dolphins...can't forget the dolphins. (I may have posted these before but I cannot find them)

Dirty Hands McGee. He is one of the less aggressive bums in this gos forsaken city, he is in fact, lazy. He stands in this Jesus Christ pose with his pitch black dirty hands by his side and groans when you walk by. If you say no he nods with indifference. Dirty Hands McGee is known to just drop trow and take a dump anywhere he wants, I have sadly seen this on more than one occasion...

One day I was looking out my window as I tend to do and he was passed out half way in and out of the street. I had my Jr guy call the non-emergency police line and tell them. The ambulance came within 10 minutes and woke him up, gave him a field sobriety test (which he failed) and then sent him on his way.

In the meantime, it was amazing watching people just stop and take pictures and pose with him. No one else bothered to call the cops or ambulance or anything. Its sad really, and says a lot about the people in this city.

Well that was fun. I hope to be updating more often. Look for the Captains own page soon!
